The Expatriate

Since the days of novelists like Ernest Hemingway, “expatriate” has typically been a romantic notion. In this title, though, the expatriate is a man on the run from his past and his enemies, and his life is far from romantic. American Jack Dexter plans to go deeper and deeper underground in Mexico to hide from his pursuers, but the CIA doesn’t give up easily, and they don’t care who they have to kill to bring Jack back. What secret lies in Jack’s past? Who is Maria Lobo and why is she helping him? And for that matter, is her help the very thing that might get Jack killed even quicker?

B. Clay Moore’s clever and twisty thriller has a sharp and dark humor about it. Jason Latour’s expressionistic art and the accompanying vibrant colors help the title stand out from other espionage titles.
