S.O.F.T. Corps
(Spoof, 1993)
©1993 Personality Comics, Inc.
S.O.F.T. Corps was a 1993 spoof of Valiant’s H.A.R.D. Corps. H.A.R.D. Corps stands for “Harbinger Active Resistance Division,” a group of operatives with special implants which allow them to take on Harbinger-like super-powers, but only one power at a time. This rather obvious plot device gets openly skewered in this parody comic, along with the bad codenames of the H.A.R.D. Corps members, the sometimes ridiculous villains they fight, and so on.
But the real joke is in S.O.F.T. Corp’s mission. They work for Teaser Magazine’s Sue Hefner. Their mission is to stop rival Pornhouse Productions from producing their hardcore pornography. The last paragraph of the comic sums it up nicely: “We will never cease in our struggle to make men SLOBBER while looking at women with their clothes still ON!” Kinda makes you proud, doesn’t it?
