Condorman (Walt Disney)

In the waning days of the original Disney studio before Michael Eisner took over in the mid-80s, Disney released a so-so film featuring the superhero that comic strip artist Woody Wilkins (a character in the movie) draws. Anxious to publish anything Disney that didn’t feature a duck, Whitman set forth publishing a comic book adaptation and then a succeeding comic book series hoping for a hit. Unfortunately, since the film flopped, so did this series. The only remarkable thing about Condorman now is that it features a pre-Phantom of the Opera Michael Crawford in the starring role and on the comic book’s photo covers.
