Onslaught: X-Men

    (Marvel, 1996)
™ and ©1996 Marvel Entertainment Group

It begins with a message sent forty-five minutes from now. Jean Grey reported that their mansion had been all but leveled, both the blue and gold teams of X-Men were down, and that Professor X had gone insane. The message ended when Jean was herself toppled by a psionic blast. The Onslaught had begun.

Onslaught was the grand Marvel event of 1996, cutting through many of Marvel’s titles, changing the face of the X-titles in particular. The saga began in this volume, in which we encounter a villain so powerful that no force on earth seems able to stop him. Worse yet, the villain who was about to destroy the X-Men was once a person whom they had once trusted above all others.
