This one-shot is a reprinting of the first issue of earlier series, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. It draws from the Saturday morning cartoon series that was most popular during the early 1980s.

In this tale, Spider-Man, Iceman, and Firestar meet for the first time while at a costume party. Ironically, the three heroes show up at the party dressed as other super-heroes. Firestar is dressed as Spider-Woman, Iceman as Captain America, and Spider-Man as…well, Spider-Man. When the Green Goblin shows up to kidnap a young woman whom he believes to possess a secret formula, the three heroes jump into their regular costumes and defeat the emerald menace. Afterward, it seems only natural that they decide to join together to fight crime.
