Classic Star Wars: Devilworlds

    (Dark Horse, 1996)
™ and ©1996 Lucasfilm Ltd.

As part of its Star Wars franchise, Dark Horse began reprinting “classic” Star Wars stories that originally appeared in The Empire Strikes Back magazine published by Marvel Comics UK in the early 1980s. Seen for the first time in color, and for the first time in a North American edition, these early stories feature the work of a some British creators who later became better known in the U.S., notably writer Alan Moore (Swamp Thing, Watchmen) and artist John Stokes.

The stories in Devilworlds are distinct in plot, tone, and style from the continuity established in the other Dark Horse Star Wars titles. Because the British editions were brought out weekly, the stories are shorter and tighter, with more emphasis on individual characters and plot elements.
