This black-and-white title from All The Rage Comics focuses on a grotesquely rendered girl named Prudence who rages at MTV video jocks, accepts a fast-food job for extra money, and espouses a philosophy of doom and gloom. The negativity in this strip is hilarious, and the drawings—while gruesome—are exquisitely detailed and funny. A back cover drawing of Prudence chastising a corpse for spurting blood on her new dress is a scream. If you’re a fan of dark humor, Lovely Prudence is the indie title for you.
