Flash & Green Lantern: The Brave and the Bold

Hot on the heels of their excellent JLA: Year One limited series, writers Mark Waid (Flash) and Tom Peyer (Hourman) and artist Barry Kitson (L.E.G.I.O.N.) returned to the Silver Age of Comics with this fun-filled six-parter starring Barry Allen and Hal Jordan. The premise is simple: each issue examines the friendship of the Silver Age Flash and Green Lantern at a different point in their careers. From the early days, when they were new to crimefighting and each other, to the days just after the apparent death of Barry’s wife in The Flash (1st Series) #275. The series also features guest-appearances by such stalwarts as Kid Flash, the Golden Age Flash, the Golden Age Green Lantern, and Green Arrow, and each issue is written and drawn in the style of the era in which it takes place. For example, issue #4 is set during Green Lantern’s “relevancy period,” and focuses on political corruption, and features Neal Adams-style artwork.
