Fawcett Movie Comics changed its name to Motion Picture Comics in 1950, but the concept remained the same: comic adaptations of popular movies. Motion Picture Comics generally favored war stories and westerns, including “The Vanishing Westerner,” “Rough Rider of Durango,” “The Red Badge of Courage,” and “Code of the Silver Sage.” Occasionally a science-fiction title would creep in, like “When Worlds Collide,” or the odd spy/suspense thriller like “Walk on East Beacon” toward the end of the run. Motion Picture Comics all featured photo covers, often taken from the movie lobby posters.
