Conventional wisdom holds that heat waves breed crime waves. In 1995, Chicago police experienced an increase in crime during a heat wave that took over one hundred lives. So when New York experiences average temperatures of 106 degrees, the Shadow gets ready for overtime.

A series of murders attract the Shadow’s attention. After a little digging around, the dark hero discovers that these murders are tied to the Yakuza (Japanese Mafia). Lamont Cranston has his work cut out for him as he uses all of his resources and agents to put a stop to the senseless violence in an already hot town.

The Shadow: Hell’s Heat Wave is a three-issue limited series written by Michael Kaluta and Joel Goss with illustrations by Gary Gianni.
