Petticoat Junction
(Dell, 1964-1965)
™ and © Dell Publishing Co.
Indirectly a spin-off of the popular Beverly Hillbillies which also had it’s own comic book. This was another of the rural sitcoms that populated CBS television during the 1960s. It originally starred Bea Benaderet who was best known as the original voice of Betty Rubble on The Flintstones. Bea left that show for the chance to star in her own live action TV series set in Hooterville with her three daughters and Uncle Joe who all ran the Shady Rest Hotel. Their misadventures were spun-off to Green Acres, which strangely never had a comic book series of its own.
