Angela’s unrequited love for Damien is reflected in the hollow, lonely streets they cruise through, her thoughts captured in capsule-sized confessions of love and sadness. Cruz’ minimalist, sketchy artwork weaves a dreamlike spell, hauntingly portraying how Angela’s romantic fantasies clash with the disturbing, depressing reality of her situation.
