Miss Peach
(Dell, 1963)
™ and © Dell Publishing Co.
In 1957, Mel Lazarus debuted his comic strip featuring the various young students and teacher of Kelly School. Miss Peach is the young pretty teacher, who is somewhat misunderstood by Miss Crystal and Mr. Grimmis the principal. The kids: Ira, Freddy, Marcia, Francine, etc., have various quirks and personalities strongly reminiscent of fan-favorite characters from Charles Schulz’s Peanuts. The long-running comic strip had this short-running comic book. Lazarus later went on to create the equally popular Momma comic strip.
