Stock schlock fun for the B-movie cultist, as Ash from the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness films is accused of the horrific S-Mart killings that he of course stopped the Deadites from perpetuating in a previous miniseries.

Committed to Arkham Asylum, he suffers for several months under H.P. Lovecraft’s Dr. Herbert West, who is supplementing his reanimation serum with the evil Necronomicon book. Bad news for the world, but good news for Ash when he’s rescued by two parapsychologists, even if one is an idealistic fan named Deuce Bellcamp in one of many in-jokes for the fans.

It’s a stand-up story if you get past the atrociously speculative newscast that would cost any reporter her job if she weren’t here to give the reader the necessary exposition.
