Green Hornet (Gold Key)
(Gold Key, 1967)
™ and © Western Publishing Company, Inc.
The Green Hornet originally appeared as a weekly radio show back in 1936 and was created by George Trendle, the same person responsible for the creation of The Lone Ranger, and in fact, Green Hornet was considered the grandnephew of Lone Ranger. By the 1960s, when the Batman craze took over, everyone was looking for another superhero to replicate the same success. The show featured Van Williams as Hornet and a young Bruce Lee as his sidekick, Kato, and this comic book is based on that series.
