Mr. Beat is apparently dead, and the world mourns the loss of the existentially cool coffee-worshipping, goateed hero in black. Guest-starring Scott Roberts’ Patty Cake, this comic explores the aftermath of the announcement of the hero’s death.

But when hundreds of Mr. Beats appear at a coffeehouse, is the real one among them? And is there a hidden threat waiting in the wings that even Mr. Beat isn’t cool enough to contain from beyond the grave?

In addition, Mr. Beat narrates the story of his association and fascination with Betty Page in a love letter text piece entitled “Dear Betty.”

This issue also contains a special preview of “Spy Girls,” the story of four very different women who team up to fight crime in the 1960s. Can Cover Girl, Flower Girl, Galaxy Girl, and Rebel Girl defeat the diabolical Dr. Vertigo?
