Deep inside a NASA lab, astronauts Kelly Brock, Roger Brunner, Duke Goldberg and Calvin Gordon are placed in suspended animation as part of a short-term experiment for deep-space exploration equipment. But above ground, a swift and sudden nuclear war causes the experiment to go awry. The base is destroyed and everyone is killed—except the four sleepers, who awake 30 years later to a post-apocalyptic nightmare. Now, the explorers must make their way as the only humans in a dangerous world peopled entirely by mutants. Written and drawn by David Lawrence and Ron Lim (Silver Surfer (2nd Series), Green Lantern (2nd Series)) this series was a spinoff from Lawrence and Lim’s better-known creation, the Ex-Mutants.
