X-Men Prime

™ and ©1995 Marvel Entertainment Group

In X-Men Alpha, the X-Men were transplanted to an alternate reality ruled by the villainous mutant Apocalypse. In X-Men Omega, the alternate-reality X-Men succeeded in defeating their nemesis and in restoring the world as they had known it. Now, in X-Men Prime, they get a chance to take a good hard look at that world.

Hank McCoy (the Beast) has a reporter girl friend who is about to betray them all in exchange for a “scoop.” She breaks the story that the deadly Legacy Virus is spreading to the human population, touching off deadly anti-mutant hysteria. A boy whose mutant powers are just beginning to manifest themselves is subsequently hunted down and beaten to death by a gang of mutant-hating hoodlums. Meanwhile, various other X-Men recover from wounds suffered, old enemies gather, and the powerful X-Man crashes to Earth from the world of Apocalypse. Even in this “resting up” issue, life is never dull for the X-Men.
