I Had a Dream

    (King Ink Empire, 1995)
™ and ©1995 Steven Gilbert

A silent figure approaches a deep chasm, several feet wide and apparently spanning the entire circumference of his world. On the opposite side another figure, with a ski mask covering his face and speaking from his hand as though he was wearing a sock puppet, verbally taunts him to jump the span. The taciturn character is reticent, but his tormentor is unrelenting. Finally, much to the alarm of his adversary, he makes the jump and kills his antagonist. Thus ends the first piece of the puzzle.

The stark black and white symbolic images of Steven Gilbert’s self-indulgent experiment are certainly open to personal interpretation. A possible explanation might be: “The esoteric ramblings of my subconscious simply must be shared with others.”
