Li’l Genius

What book could one create with exasperated parents, a mischievous son, and a female nemesis? Perhaps a book named Dennis the Menace? Well, not in this case. Li’l Genius is an easily forgettable, poor imitation of Dennis the Menace. Some of the best children’s books include satire, crisp dialog, and an adult’s perspective of humor and themes. Sadly, these qualities are missing and the entire book suffers. A sharp reader will quickly determine the writing is aimed at younger readers since the jokes are simple wordplay and sight gags. This book is written only for the ten-year-old and under group.
