Hectic Planet

Evan Dorkin’s Hectic Planet is a collection of strange and humorous “slice-of-life” stories. It follows the lives of a collection of teenaged humans and aliens as they try to make it in the topsy-turvy world of 2076. Among the bunch are Fibby, a sort of permanent baby in business attire; Tigger, a good-hearted romantic who tends to faint dead away when confronted with any life crisis; Halby Durzell, a self-centered scamster; Elsie, Halby’s ex-girlfriend whose bad luck with men seems to repeat itself endlessly; and “Blue,” a baseball cap-wearing alien whose lack of eyes and nose only makes his anxious grin all the funnier.

Beginning with issue #6, Pirate Corp$! changed names to become Hectic Planet. The new title definitely seemed more accurate as the series had moved away from future-adventure themes since its inception.
