Drug Wars

    (Pioneer, 1989)
™ and ©1989 Pioneer Comics, a division of Xanadu Publishing, Inc.

Hal Schuster and Mike Clark’s Drug Wars is one of the most realistic looks at America’s drug problems that has ever appeared in comics. There are no super-heroes in garish spandex to save the day—only military personnel, government officials, and police officers; their struggle is a mighty one. Drug Wars focuses on a number of fronts in America’s war on drugs—military strikes at the sources of marijuana and cocaine, senators’ and representatives’ attempts to legislate the problem away, and cops’ struggles on the streets. Comics don’t get much grittier than this very interesting look at an ongoing problem.
