Classic 2000 A.D.
(Fleetway Quality, 1995-1996)
™ and ©1995 Fleetway Editions, Ltd.
This title replaced The Best of 2000 A.D. in 1995 as part of a minor relaunch of Fleetway’s science-fiction titles. For its material, it draws from the magazine 2000 A.D., Fleetway’s science-fiction weekly. 2000 A.D. is best known as the home of future lawman Judge Dredd, but it also has introduced hundreds of other weird and wacky characters over its almost one-thousand-issue run.
Classic 2000 A.D. does a good job of serving up the best of the bunch. Early issues starred such notables as Mean Machine (a brawling cyborg with a dial embedded in his head that controls how nasty he gets), Psi-Judge Anderson, and the troll-like Bradley (as well as guest appearances by Nitzer Eb and the Sisters of Mercy).
