Valeria, the She-Bat (Continuity)
(Continuity, 1993)
™ and ©1993 Continuity Publishing, Inc.
Issues #2–4 never published
Valeria, we hardly knew ya…
A member of the Were-Bred with leathern wings, sonar, and deadly claws, Valeria was a perfect character for the complex world of magic and mystery she lived in. This was one of the first titles from Neal Adams’ Continuity Comics, but though the stories and art were excellent, the real story was not to be found in its inside pages.
The first two issues of Valeria were released with great fanfare in the comics boom of 1993. However, Continuity didn’t make them available for regular ordering, using them as promotion pieces instead. Issues #3 and 4 were meant to be star-packed attractions, featuring a collaboration with Spawn’s Todd McFarlane. Sadly, these never came to pass. Issue #5 was the first generally released one, followed by new issues numbered 3 and 4. By then, however, the game was up and Valeria folded.
