Writer, artist, occasional musician, and self-proclaimed superstar James Kolchalka has always had a unique and quirky vision of the world, and it’s on full display in this one-shot graphic novel that involves alien possession (of a cat), dangerous robots, and even time travel. An old man/elf muses over his increasing physical infirmities and reminisces fondly about his past-– learning to drive, falling in love, and becoming the man he is today. While playing with his cat, he comes up with the idea to build a robot of himself, thus living forever. Unfortunately, the robot has a quickly developing mind (and dream) of its own, and is less interested in the future than in making some serious, albeit amusing, trouble in the old man’s past.

Witty, original, and humorously drawn, this book makes it clear why Kolchalka has made a name for himself in the world of small-press and independent comics. Published by Slave Labor Graphics.
