Mac is an honest, hardworking Joe aboard a combat-ready space station, doing all the fix-it jobs in between day-to-day yearnings for some of the beautiful space soldier babes on the station. But Mac is different. You see, he’s an ape. Grease Monkey, get it? Writer/artist Tim Eldred keeps his story and characterizations at that same level of subtlety as he weaves a self-consciously intriguing space opera punctuated with occasional action sequences. Mac’s blue-collar sensibilities provide some comic relief, as does the interplay between the boneheaded soldiers and the with-it Love and Rockets-style women on the station.
