The House on the Borderland
(Vertigo, 2000)
™ and ©2000 DC Comics
The House on the Borderland sits at the edge of dull, colorless reality and realms of unimaginable horror, and one brave soul has come to exorcize the evil that dwells there. This graphic novel is an adaptation of British author William Hope Hodgson’s classic tale of “science fiction, fantasy, and occult horror” by Simon Revelstroke (Tarzan/John Carter: Warlords of Mars, Heartthrobs) and the legendary Richard Corben (Den, Aliens: Alchemy). It reflects the genius of two men who have done more than their fair share of dabbling in science fiction…and fantasy…and horror. Excellent stuff. And, hey, there’s an introduction by Alan Moore (Watchmen, Tom Strong), who analyzes Hodgson’s place in the horror genre.
