Jimmy Wakely

Yet another of the singing cowboys of movies’ past, but unlike his contemporaries like Roy Rogers or Gene Autrey who also had their own comic books, Wakely is basically forgotten today. Nothing is very distinguished about Wakely or this book comic series, but the title featured artwork by such notable artists as Frank Frazetta, Harvey Kurtzman, Alex Toth and Joe Kubert. Probably Wakely’s biggest film was Across the Rio Grande. Remember that one?
