King Leonardo and His Short Subjects
(Gold Key, 1962-1963)
™ and © Western Publishing Company, Inc.
Before Underdog and Tennessee Tuxedo, Total Television Productions got their start with this successful limited-animation TV series that featured “short subjects” of The Hunter and Tooter the Turtle, just like this comic book. As for the King himself, his own brother, Itchy Brother who worked for Biggie Rat, was always trying to overthrow him. It was always up to true-blue Odie Colognie to save the day. Not as fondly remembered as what was to follow from TTV, but very successful for its time.
