In this excellent four-issue limited series—the second outing for the Birds of Prey—the team expands to include the Huntress and Catwoman. Each one having been jilted and/or scammed by the same guy, the Black Canary and her uneasy allies set out on something of road trip—a la “Thelma and Louise”—to collect their “pound of flesh.” The ever-diligent Oracle calls the shots from behind her computer screen in her high-rise Gotham City Headquarters. Chuck Dixon’s action-packed script is beautifully illustrated by Matt Haley, an artist who knows a thing or two about strong-willed women, having drawn both Ghost and Elseworld’s Finest: Supergirl and Batgirl.
