Doctor Who Graphic Novel

The good Doctor faces Roman robots, an emotionless city, a cute and furry menace, space werewolves, and a time witch. The Doctor Who threats the Daleks appear in one of these stories (but let’s not spoil which). The writers do a fine job, but it’s big–name Gibbons who grabs the spotlight. (You may remember him from a little thing called Watchmen.) It’s his name in large letters on the cover, and the foreword is an interview with the artist. Aside from action and humor, the book features The Doctor perhaps most recognizable on this side of the pond and a sense of Briticism that is still accessible to us Yanks. The only thing to jettison is the space–trucker’s CB slang, which was probably equally out of touch in the 1970s.
