Comic book series based on a long-running but seldom-remembered comic strip published from 1956-1980 by a man who signed his name Rupe, a.k.a. Robert Baldwin about a precocious and observant little boy who bore some resemblance to Charlie Brown of Peanuts. Although Freddy had a lengthy run in the newspapers, this success did not translate to the comic book, despite the fact that the comic book stories allowed for lengthier adventures than just three panels.
