Fight for Tomorrow

    (Vertigo, 2002-2003)
™ and ©2002 DC Comics, Inc.

Written by Brian Wood with scratchy and down-and-dirty artwork by fan favorite Denys Cowan, this mini follows the mystery of “Fight Club”-esque fighter Cedric. From the dark arena of a Chinatown back alley to the gleaming and distant apartments of the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Cedric is a mystery wrapped inside a riddle. Sensitive and brooding, the young man devastates his opponents in the ring. Between scenes of worship at a Buddhist temple and flashbacks to his ex-girlfriend (who Cedric insists is not an “ex”), the reader is exposed to the raw nerve of this fighter’s life. Who is Cedric? Why is he still fighting if he hates it so much? Why did his girlfriend leave him? All these questions and many more await in the pages of this gripping creator-owned miniseries from Jim Lee’s Wildstorm studios.
