V For Vendetta

In the nuclear wars of the near future, England narrowly avoided being annihilated. But in the panic that followed, the government fell, and was replaced by a totalitarian state. Jews, blacks, homosexuals, intellectuals, and others were rounded up and taken to “resettlement camps,” where the lucky ones went into the ovens. The unlucky ones were “experimented” upon. The doors in that part of the facility were labeled with Roman numerals: I, II, III, IV…V.
Now the “experiment” behind door V is back. Dressed up in the melodramatic costume of Parliament-bomber Guy Fawkes, he stalks the streets and alleys of totalitarian London. More than revenge, he’s out to take down the whole system. He calls himself “V”—“V”for “Vendetta.”
Alan Moore once again works his magic in this dark title. Originally begun in England’s Warrior magazine, its storyline is completed here in this ten-part series.
