Pat Boone

Though not as well known today, or even considered the butt of jokes, there was a time in the 1950s when actor/singer Pat Boone was a highly successful recording artist, creating “tamer” version of the more raucous rock and roll hits like Tutti Frutti, popularized by “wilder” artists like Little Richard. Eventually, Boone (a direct descendant of Daniel Boone) became a major film talent starring in April Love, State Fair and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Long before The Monkees, The Partridge Family and New Kids on the Block had comic book series based on popular musical groups, Pat Boone was there with this series.
