Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Tales of the Slayers
(Dark Horse, 2002)
™ and ©2002 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation
Vampires aren’t the only thing Buffy can slay. In her short career, the Slayer has conquered television, musicals, t-shirts, action figures and finally, comic books. Now the concept is taken a step further with tales of Slayers other than Buffy. This one-shot, sequel to Dark Horse’s Tales of the Slayer graphic novel, features two connected stories by television series writers Jane Espenson and Douglas Petrie. The first, drawn Manga-style by Jeff Matsuda, takes place during the second season of the Buffy TV show, where Buffy and Willow fight a djinn and send it scampering through time. The second tale reveals where the djinn ends up, a beautiful 1930s period piece by Gene Colan, the dark prince of vampire artists.
