Eddie Campbell’s Bacchus is a unique take on one of the oldest characters of them all. Bacchus is the ancient Greek god of wine and revelry, but finds himself well past his prime in the modern day. Now this grizzled old deity hangs out in pubs, sipping his drink and regaling the locals with tales of ages past.

After this 1988 series, Bacchus would go on to star in a number of other Campbell-authored titles including Deadface: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire, The Eyeball Kid and 1,001 Nights of Bacchus. He would also enjoy a revival in a new Bacchus series in the mid-1990s.
