Angel, the first love of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, managed to spin his popularity into his own books, comics and TV series. In his first adventure since the end of that show, the vampire has left his friends behind to pursue a personal quest.

Over a hundred years ago, Romanian Gypsies cursed Angel with the burden of a human soul, and after years of redeeming his evil acts, he’s finally seeking their forgiveness, and the removal of the curse’s “true happiness” clause.

Unfortunately, he finds the once-proud Gypsies suffering under the iron rule of a powerful warlord—one whose commands are enforced by an army of vampires!

After years with a team, does Angel still have what it takes to win a revolution on his own? And what about the people he’s trying to help? Half of them would just as soon kill him than accept his help…
