Image Comics co-founder, Rob Liefeld, created another character to add to his huge gallery of heroes with Knightmare. Once a Mafia triggerman, Alec Knight now patrols the city as the armor-plated vigilante Knightmare. After his son was murdered and his wife sentenced to a bedridden existence by a gangster named Logan, Alec went over the edge. Convinced his only path to redemption lay in revenge, he found a man named Caine and persuaded him to help. Caine, an older man, got the armor for Knight and acts as his anchor to reality in Knight’s quest for vengeance against Logan and the Mafia.

This series debuted in February of 1995, and although created by Liefeld, the script was written by Robert Loren Fleming. Fans of this type of story may also wish to check out Valiant’s Bloodshot.
