Series reads right to left.

As alchemy reigns in a medieval world, two brothers are horribly injured in their attempt to resurrect their deceased mother. However, the older, Edward, has fashioned new “automail” limbs and has encased the soul of the younger, Alphonse, in a massive suit of armor. Now employed by the government, they hunt for the mythical Philosopher’s Stone, which has the power to restore their bodies and lives. But along the way they must root out evildoers!

First, the pair visits the town of Lior, where Lord Conello rules a deceived populace and is empowered by the incarnation of the seven deadly sins themselves. Next, Ed and Al confront the corrupt officials who control a coal mine. Then, the duo must rescue a general and his family who are kidnapped by brigands led by a man who wields his own bionic arm.

This manga began in 2000 in Japan, where it became a blockbuster that spawned videogames and anime. No wonder, as it successfully targets teens by features a headstrong and humorous hero who wields his body as a living weapon.
