Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2nd Series)

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have gone through a lot since their creation in 1984. They began as a parody, became a cult favorite, then appeared in a more “child-friendly” form in Archie comics, movies, and TV shows which turned them into super-stars. But even while the Turtle explosion was happening, Eastman and Laird continued the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series in its original black-and-white form, perhaps preferring the stylized feel that simple pen and ink gave the inherently colorful characters.

Now the Turtles cross that final frontier. Following the City at War storyline at the end of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1st Series), this new volume began in full color. This doesn’t mean the series metamorphosized into a laugh-a-minute riot à la Archie’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures. Despite their sudden hue-enhancement, these Turtles are no joke.
