Mr. District Attorney
(DC, 1948-1959)
™ and ©1957 National Comics Publications, Inc.
Based on a popular radio (and later television) crime drama, Mr. District Attorney follows the adventures of a crusading big city DA and his assistant as they go after mobsters, solve murder mysteries, and uphold law and order.
Mr. District Attorney, as a licensed property tied in to an ongoing television series, was more restricted in its format than many other crime comics of the late 1940s and 1950s. Also, DC was the leading comics publisher of the era and took a conservative approach to the content of its titles. The stories in Mr. District Attorney were always well-crafted, the artwork solid, and its emphasis on the “good guys,” as opposed to featuring the criminals, helped it outlast other crime comics on the newsstands.
