The Phoenix, a cosmic force which for a time was thought to be Jean Grey (a.k.a. Marvel Girl), was a being of such incredible power that its return warrants the presence of a plethora of super-heroes. This crossover between Marvel and Malibu features Amber Hunt of the Exiles (now possessed by the Phoenix as shown in The Phoenix Resurrection: Genesis) in a densely packed battle with The X-Men, UltraForce, the Exiles and the Solution.

This title is the second part of an trilogy involving the Phoenix entity and the Malibu characters. The final destiny of Amber Hunt is related in The Phoenix Resurrection: Aftermath, which serves as the origin of Foxfire who was introduced in this chapter.
