Supreme Power: Nighthawk

    (Marvel, 2005-2006)
™ and ©2005 Marvel Characters, Inc.

When Kyle Richmond’s parents were killed by white racists, his entire life changed. He designed a protective battlesuit and various weapons to aid him in his never ending war on crime and minority-hating caucasians in the Chicago area. Now whole areas of the town are avoided by the police because the citizens living there don’t trust them. Besides, they have a hero of their own who’s bringing his own brand of justice: Nighthawk.

This version of Nighthawk came into being with issue 2 of Marvel’s Max Comics series for adult readers, Supreme Power. A new universe with some familiar faces based mostly on the original Squadron Supreme from the 1971 Avengers #85, this Nighthawk, a Marvel version of DC’s Batman is black and proud of it, not to mention obsessed with white injustice against minorities. All together, this series is an interesting twist that long time comic readers might actually enjoy.
