Fast Forward

In a world full of super-hero comics, DC’s Piranha Press has stood out by keeping things simple. Instead of plotting 18-issue crossovers featuring nonstop fights between costume-clad super-beings, their books simply tell stories. Good stories.

Fast Forward continues in the tradition of such fine works as Beautiful Stories For Ugly Children, combining expressive artwork with top-notch writing. Included are entries from Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell, Maxx’s Sam Kieth, and novelist Meg Wolitzer. Their tales run the breadth of the imagination, from a comic rendition of the tales of Homer to the saga of a lonely actress who passes time by spying on other people’s lives through her apartment window.
