Maison Ikkoku Part 9

Artist/writer Rumiko Takahashi throws more curveballs as Maison Ikkoku nears its conclusion. The still-unconsummated romance between Yusaku Godai and Kyoko Otonashi, the manager of his apartment building, is tested once again as Godai is unable to dump Kozue, a girl he’s dated off and on. Frustrated by Godai’s indecisiveness and weak-willed nature, Otonashi leaves Maison Ikkoku and lives with her parents. Godai begins visiting Otonashi to bring her back, but she continually ignores him. After Godai is given Otonashi’s job at Maison Ikkoku, he suddenly finds himself without the free time to see her, upsetting her even more. The series’ eccentric supporting characters continue to provide comic relief, especially the lingerie-clad drunk Akemi, who tricks Godai into getting in bed with her in one issue.
