After the apparent death of Reed Richards, the Fantastic Four has disbanded. In their place stands a new group of heroes, led by the son of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.

Franklin Richards, a young adult displaced in time, is finally in control of his powerful psionic powers. Along with his aunt, a warrior from the future called Huntara, he struggles to form a team that can live up to the legend of its predecessors. Vibraxas, an arrogant Wakandan noble, only stays at the behest of his mentor, the Black Panther. The final member, Devlor is one of the outcast Inhumans, not quite in control of his powers.

Although the fledgling heroes prove themselves worthy in battle, their greatest struggle will be to learn how to work, and survive, as a team.
