Dexter’s Laboratory

    (DC, 1999-2003)
™ and ©1999 The Cartoon Network

Based on the Cartoon Network series, Dexter’s Laboratory is true to its source material. Here, as on TV, Dexter is a boy who uses science and technology to deal with all the typical childhood problems; for example, cybernetic armor is the perfect cure for those dodgeball fears. In his first issue, Dexter becomes—what else?—a super-hero in grand style via his (Jack) Kirbytron 2000. Artist Genndy Tatakovsky seems to have loads of fun rendering Dexter’s lab in standard Kirby circuitry. Ah, but how will our hero fare against the evil Deestructa, a comic-book version of his meddling older sister DeeDee? Find out in this fun adaptation of a truly inspired animated series.
