Supermen of America (1st Series)

™ and © DC Comics, Inc.

Mitch Anderson is at an interesting time in his life. He’s young, but he’s also got superpowers. At a concert for peace, a gang confrontation forces him to admit that he’s not quite a “super-hero” yet, despite his powers. Enter Lex Luthor. Lex uses his newspaper connections to bash Mitch’s super hero identity (Outburst) in order to force a meeting. When Mitch finally shows up, Lex explains that with Superman taking a more global role now, Metropolis needs some new heroes to keep the peace. Now Mitch is the leader of the Supermen of America, a team sponsored by Lex Luthor. There could be more than meets the eye, but Mitch will have to find that out for himself.

Writer Stuart Immonen (Action Comics) heads several artistic teams that do different sections of the book. Issue one also contains a Supermen of America membership kit, including ID card, decoder dial, membership certificate, and several badges.
