The Brotherhood

    (Marvel, 2001-2002)
™ and ©2001 Marvel Characters, Inc.
Writer X aka Howard Mackie

This series was launched as part of Marvel’s revitalization of their line of mutant titles. Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely gave us New X-Men. Joe Casey and Ian Churchill took on Uncanny X-Men. Peter Milligan and Mike Allred reworked X-Force. And then there was The Brotherhood. Make no mistake about it: this is not a traditional Marvel mutant title, and it’s not about the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. This series is about a subversive mutant movement—one that demands not tolerance or acceptance, but a total social revolution. And they’re going to bring it “by fire…by force…whatever it takes.”
